Digital Edition of the Georgian Defter. Vers. 1.0.1
The project is implemented within the framework of a master's thesis of Ilia State University and a master's degree research grant announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. The database is based on the Great Book of Gurjistan from 1574 ("Gürcistan Vilayeti Büyük Defteri"). The second phase of the study plans to supplement the database with other historical sources from the same period.
This project is a completely innovative step in the study of the socio-economic history of late medieval Georgia. The project allows us to reconstruct the full picture of socio-economic relations for each of the settlements mentioned in Gurjistan Province.
